The Village Market, formerly the Farmers Market, is on the 1st Saturday of every month

The Cuppa Care Project has been initiated by the Rotary Club of Norwich, as part of the Club’s Centenary Celebrations, and developed and delivered by a partnership of local charities working jointly towards bringing people together and tackle loneliness that may be caused through poverty, disability, age, gender, lack of accessible local support and information services, geographical remoteness, poor transport or other issues.
Whether you just want to get out of the house, to meet new people, or chat about something that’s worrying you – we have friendly people on board of our Cuppa Care Bus who can help. Apart from Hear for Norfolk you will be able to access support from Age UK Norwich, Vision Norfolk, Norfolk LGBT+ Project, Norfolk and Waveney Mind, Norfolk CAB, Age UK Norfolk and The Wellbeing Service.
This is a voluntary organisation where people who need a assistance can phone a central number and a volunteer will be asked to help out. All volunteers will be checked through the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB). The Scheme is funded by grants from Broadland District Council, Norfolk Rural Community Council, Acle Parish Council and by local fundraising.
Services that might be included are transport to appointments at the doctors’ surgey, or at a hospital (45p per mile will be charged for petrol), occasional gardening, dog walking, help around the house, collecting shopping or library books or just a cup of tea and a chat.
If you are interested in joining as a volunteer please phone Pauline James on 01493 751070 or email Acleclerks@googlegroups.com
There is a Tea & Talk drop in session every second Thursday of the month, at Acle Methodist Church, at 2.00pm.
Other than the above Tea & Talk, owing to the reduced number of volunteers, and the ongoing risk from Covid-19, we regret that it is unlikely that residents can be helped at present.
